Pilates was created by Josef Pilates in the 1920s and was originally a method practiced in dancers. In recent years, fuelled by physiotherapy’s drive for best practice, Pilates has moved in leaps and bounds to see a shift in focus from “core stability” to “functional stability.”
At Advanced Physiotherapy, we are very excited to introduce Clinical Pilates Plus! Under the careful guidance of our therapists, you will be able to utilise cutting edge Pilates equipment, complemented with state of the art functional training equipment. For those who have not utilised Pilates equipment before, they are exceptionally versatile machines which work on a spring and gear system. By changing the amount of loaded springs and alternating gears, you can make exercises harder and easier. The thing we love most about Pilates equipment is that it is suitable for everyone, from the elderly population to the elite athlete!
Our Clinical Pilates Plus program can help you live a better life through:
- Improving your weight, posture and confidence
- Increasing your strength
- Improving mobility and flexibility
- Preventing injury
- Improving balance and coordination
- Reducing your need for medication including painkillers
- Enhancing athletic and sporting performance
- Improving your sleep
Before entering a program you will need an assessment from one of our Physiotherapists or Exercise Physiologists to discuss your goals and to plan your program.
